A Reflective Commission
Written by: Leia Marie
I want to suggest something to you. Take a moment to be still and reflect on these thoughts:
Look what God does.
See how He shows up.
Feel His love.
Experience the truth.
Live in the light.
The invitation of God is rarely loud. It is often a gentle crescendo that moves one step at a time.
First, we notice.
Then we become aware.
Then we draw near.
Then truth awakens something inside us.
Then our lives begin to change.
Observation.
Awareness.
Intimacy.
Revelation.
Transformation.
It’s not, “Look at me.”
It’s, “Look at Him.”
It’s not, “Try harder.”
It’s, “Notice. Receive. Live.”
So much of our striving fades when we remember this:
Our job is obedience.
God’s job is movement.
We are responsible for faithfulness.
He is responsible for fruit.
Jesus said it plainly:
“Abide in Me… and you will bear much fruit.”
— John 15:5
The branch does not strain to produce fruit. It does not grit its teeth and force growth. It stays connected. Abiding is not performing. It is remaining.
You cannot control who your obedience reaches. You cannot measure what your faithfulness accomplishes. You may never see most of the impact this side of heaven. But that does not mean it isn’t happening.
God is living and active. His Word does not return empty. His Spirit moves in ways unseen. Sometimes the greatest act of faith is simply this:
“Yes, Lord.”
Yes to obedience.
Yes to trusting You with the outcome.
Yes to staying connected even when the results are invisible.
Yes to looking at You instead of looking at myself.
And then rest there.
Look what He does.
See how He shows up.
Feel His love.
Experience the truth.
Live in the light.
And say, “yes.”
Suggested Companion Scriptures:
Colossians 2:6-7

1st Corinthians 3:6-7

Ephesians 5:8
Isaiah 55:11
Closing Prayer:
Lord,
Open my eyes to see You.
Quiet my striving and draw my heart close to You.
Teach me to abide, to remain, and to trust that Your work is unfolding even when I cannot see it.
Help me choose faithfulness over control and obedience over fear.
Give me the courage to say “yes” to Your leading, and the peace to rest in Your hands with the outcome.
Let my life stay rooted in Your love, walking in Your light, and bearing the fruit You desire.
In Jesus’ name.
Amen.
